The role
A post is available for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate to join a multidisciplinary project working in the laboratories of Julia Hubbard and Heath Murray. This MRC-funded position is based at the Centre for Bacterial Cell Biology (CBCB) at Newcastle University.
The aims of this project are to develop cellular assays for identifying small molecules that inhibit the essential bacterial DNA replication initiator DnaA and to construct DnaA mutations in ESKAPE pathogens to validate DnaA as a target for drug discovery. Ideal applicants should be in possession of, or near finalisation of a PhD in a relevant field.
